Care Assistant Training FAQ
There are no set entry requirements to become a care assistant. Healthcare assistants (HCAs) work within a wide range of NHS hospital or community environments under the directions of other healthcare professionals. This could be in a General Practice (GP), in a mental health facility or along with midwives and nurses at a hospital. The role offers an excellent introduction into the care profession for those that may not have any specific medical qualifications. Employers may expect you to have a general healthcare qualification such as a QCF (previously known as NVQ).
Typically a care assistant assists another care professional undertaking various duties for the elderly, disabled, mentally ill and / or terminally ill. You can also work with Children if you decide to specialise in this area. Certain tasks would require you to be supervised by a qualified professional but some such as meal preparation you may be asked to complete on your own.
Gaining a Care Certificate will be beneficial if you wish to go further as a care worker. Consisting of a set of 15 standards you are required to learn it will give you the knowledge you need to take the next step.

Assessment
After you have completed your assessment (including multiple choice questionnaire), your digital certificate is sent to the email address used to login as soon as the course is completed.If you have not received your certificate, please first check your spam box. If it isn't there, please call and we will get this resent.
Do courses expire?
There is no expiry date on course credits. Once a credit has been bought it can be allocated at any time. However, should the credit have been allocated to the delegate, each learner then has 12 months to complete the course.In other words, unallocated course credits have no expiry date. If for example you ordered 1000 licences, and allocated 600 courses in year 1, you would have 400 licences left to allocate in year 2.
