Duty of Care FAQ
Duty of care is a legal obligation to ensure the safety or well-being of others. Duty of care applies not only to health care providers but also to employers and employees in the workplace. Health and social care organisations must provide as comprehensive a service as they can and must provide staff with an environment in which they can provide care safely.
As duty of care is part of the occupational health and safety responsibilities / obligations for all in the workplace, it is necessary to ensure that all workers understand that their actions can impact upon the safety of others. Failure to take action in the prevention of things such as accidents or negligence that cause such incidents is as relevant as acting correctly in an emergency. Inactivity can lead to harm, serious injury and death. Our training course covers all aspects of duty of care from understanding duty of care responsibilities to managing conflicts and dealing with complaints.e
Duty of care does not just apply to the employer. You have a common-law duty of care as an employee. This means you must exercise reasonable skill and care in your relationship with your employer and colleagues. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASAWA) requires an individual to take reasonable care for the health and safety of all in the workplace. This extends to co-operating to enable the employer to fulfil its legal duty.

Do courses expire?
There is no expiry date on course credits. Once a credit has been bought it can be allocated at any time. However, should the credit have been allocated to the delegate, each learner then has 12 months to complete the course.
In other words, unallocated course credits have no expiry date. If for example you ordered 1000 licences, and allocated 600 courses in year 1, you would have 400 licences left to allocate in year 2.
