Staff Appraisal Skills FAQ
An appraisal is a formal opportunity to analyse an individuals performance at work, offering a chance to talk to a line manager about career plans, successes and difficulties that occur as part of the job. Appraisals can be used to evaluate pay increases and bonuses. A written record of any appraisal meeting is typically shared with the employee after the event.
The staff appraisal is a periodical advisory and support discussion between staff members and management. The purpose is to discuss current progress in a role with the intention of reaching agreement about objectives and the achievement of targets that benefit the organisation.
Feedback, when carefully considered, can improve work efficiency and encourage openness in the work place. It can help a staff member to stop, think and learn how to do things differently, ensuring a safe and healthy environment in the workplace. It is important that the process of giving/receiving feedback is handled correctly. When handled badly, it can lead to frustration, anger and ill feeling between the employee and management.

Do courses expire?
There is no expiry date on course credits. Once a credit has been bought it can be allocated at any time. However, should the credit have been allocated to the delegate, each learner then has 12 months to complete the course.
In other words, unallocated course credits have no expiry date. If for example you ordered 1000 licences, and allocated 600 courses in year 1, you would have 400 licences left to allocate in year 2.
