Diabetes FAQ
Diabetes is a metabolic condition where the individual has a higher blood sugar level than normal. The term diabetic refers to someone with this condition.
Diabetes can be dangerous if left untreated. Diabetes can cause serious health complications including kidney failure, heart disease, blindness and lower-extremity amputations. Diabetes is predicted by a clear set of symptoms. These include;
1) increased thirst
2) increased need to urinate
3) increased hunger
Type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent) requires insulin to treat the condition and generally develops in a person during childhood or their teens.
Type 2 diabetes is becoming considerably more common and typically affects people over the age of 45 that tend also to be overweight.
Type 1 diabetes is a disease that destroys pancreatic cells meaning production of insulin stops permanently. It can only be controlled by regular injections of insulin.
Type 2 diabetes slows down the production of insulin allowing sugar to build up in the bloodstream. This can initially be controlled by diet and exercise although it can require medication or injections to keep the blood sugar within normal range.

Do courses expire?
There is no expiry date on course credits. Once a credit has been bought it can be allocated at any time. However, should the credit have been allocated to the delegate, each learner then has 12 months to complete the course.
In other words, unallocated course credits have no expiry date. If for example you ordered 1000 licences, and allocated 600 courses in year 1, you would have 400 licences left to allocate in year 2.
