Challenging Behaviour FAQ
Defined as "culturally abnormal behaviour", challenging behaviour encompasses behaviour that is likely to seriously limit or deny access to ordinary community activities. It is most commonly exhibited by people with learning development disabilities or those with mental health issues, although it can be displayed by any individual.
Challenging behaviour may include self-injurious behaviour, inappropriate sexualised behaviour, aggressive behaviour, behaviour directed at property and stereotyped behaviour (such as repetitive rocking and echolalia).
There are many factors that lead to challenging behaviour including:
1) biological (the need for sensory stimulation, pain or medication)
2) environmental (physical aspects such as lighting and noise)
3) psychological (feeling excluded, lonely, devalued, living up to negative expectations of others)
4) social (boredom, requiring social interaction, a need for greater control, lack of community norms, insensitivity of staff and services to the individual's wishes and needs)

Do courses expire?
There is no expiry date on course credits. Once a credit has been bought it can be allocated at any time. However, should the credit have been allocated to the delegate, each learner then has 12 months to complete the course.
In other words, unallocated course credits have no expiry date. If for example you ordered 1000 licences, and allocated 600 courses in year 1, you would have 400 licences left to allocate in year 2.
